1. NEW BIKE COURSE – INTERNATIONAL DISTANCE
The City of Chicago, Transamerica and Life Time Fitness are proud to unveil a brand new bike course for the 2014 Transamerica Chicago Triathlon presented by Toyota – the first major course change since 1996. The new, single-loop International bike course provides athletes with the ultimate tour of Chicago, utilizing flat and fast roadways that are both well-known and not-so-familiar. The ride begins with the scenic lakefront along Lake Shore Drive, then tunnels underneath the bustling Loop on newly rebuilt Lower Wacker Drive, pops-out into the heart of the financial district, then cruises down the city’s most unobstructed freeway before returning to Transition. This course changes everything.
