The first seminar: Is The Triathlon For Me? This seminar will give you insight into what is involved in training for a triathlon, ranging from gear you’ll need to the hours you’ll be training.
Below is the rest of the schedule for our Triathlon Seminar Series. All seminars begin at 5:30pm at Fleet Feet Sports – Piper’s Alley, except where noted.
April 18 - Triathlon Help Desk: You’ve decided to participate in a triathlon, but now what? You’ll have a chance to ask triathlon experts all of the questions that you have about your impending training, including what training groups will suit your needs, what gear will work best for you, and what resources are available for the triathlete-in-training.
May 2 - Get Geared Up: When you're training for a triathlon, the questions can be paralyzing. Should I wear a wetsuit? What's the right gear to train in and to race in? What type of fuel do I need -- and how often do I need to refuel? Get all your questions answered at this seminar.
June 20 - Surviving the Swim: The swim is often a triathlete’s weakest race leg. At this seminar, we’ll help you learn how to make your swim a success. Triathlon experts will discuss sighting, water and pool starts, the hows and whys of wetsuits, and more. Wetsuits will be available to try on and swim in at the seminar. This seminar is held at Ohio Street Beach.
June 27 - Surviving the Swim, Women Only: The swim is often a triathlete’s weakest race leg. At this seminar, we’ll help you learn how to make your swim a success. July 11 - Transition 101: Learn the steps to fast, easy transitions on race day. At Triathlon Seminar: Transition 101, we'll have all the info you need to make transitions a snap. In addition, we'll cover what items you'll need come race day.
August 27 - Motivation From the Pros: Get motivated for the Chicago Triathlon with the pros at Fleet Feet Sports! This panel discussion is sure to be informative and motivational. You will also have a chance to ask the pros questions during a Q&A session. You'll likely find out they have more in common with you than you think!
