To assure a safe & fun event for you & your fellow triathletes, please adhere to the following:

1. Read the information on this web site in its entirety. Be sure to focus on the following:

a) the list of things to bring to the event
b) the safety information.

2. Listen to the Course Talk carefully.

3. Get body marked on Saturday at the Expo. If you leave it until race morning, there will be long lines.

4. Arrive at the transition area early! That means 4:45am-5:30am. If you get there late, you may be shutout & prevented from racing. Allow lots of time for traffic, parking, getting to the site & the check-in procedures.

5. Remember to bring along (2) water bottles already filled for the bike. Bring water to drink on the way to the race & before the race.

6. The transition area closes at 6:15am & re-opens at approximately 11:00am (After the last participant is out on the run), regardless of which wave you're in. Do not leave anything in transition that you'll need after you finish the race. For reasons of safety & fairness we will be enforcing this rule strictly. If you need to, adjust your travel, work or social plans around these times before you get to race day.

7. Take every opportunity to drink during the race. During the sprint distance & international distance you have several chances to take in Gatorade and water. Do not rely on thirst to tell you when to drink. Hydrate at every opportunity. While biking, throw away empty water bottles into the bottle-toss zone near the far north turnaround. Water bottles on the road are a safety hazard.

8. If you get into trouble in the swim roll onto your back & raise an arm in the air. If you experience mechanical difficulties during the bike carefully pull over to the left so as not to endanger athletes. Then pull your bike up to the median & wait for a sag vehicle. Repairs should not be made on the course unless you are on the grass median.

9. Keep to the left at all times on the bike course unless in the immediate act of passing. Always pass on the right & then move immediately back to the left. Use your voice to call out to people that you are passing & look over your shoulder before making a passing move on the right.

10. After finishing be respectful of other athletes in the race. Please treat other athletes at least as well as you would like to be treated.

Have fun, be organized and stay safe.
