Due to an extended Swim Ban at nearly all City of Chicago beaches, tonight’s Open Water Swim & Clinic and Athlete Briefing have been cancelled. This event will not be rescheduled.

This decision was made in coordination with the Chicago Park District and the National Weather Service – who extended yesterday’s Beach Hazards Statement through through the remainder of today. For more information visit www.weather.gov/greatlakes/beachhazards.

All registrant donations will be presented to the 100 Club of Chicago on Sunday, during the Awards Ceremony.

For those interested, a public pre-race Athlete Briefing will be held at Live Grit (1010 W. Monroe St) at 6:30 PM tonight (Wednesday, Aug 22). Availability will be on a first-come, first-served basis relative to store capacity.

As a reminder, all Sprint, International and Triple Challenge participants must attend an Athlete Briefing at the Fitness and Multisport Expo. Consult the Athlete Guide or Expo page for full details.

We apologize for the inconvenience and understanding of the situation. Participant safety is, and always will be, of our utmost concern.
